Newcastle United’s owner Mike Ashley is still willing to sell Newcastle United. Ashley blocked a move from Barry Mort last month, its believed Ashley is in two minds wherever to keep hold of the club and hope that Newcastle are promoted back to the Premier league. Doing so would increase his return, it’s believed that Ashley would expect about £150 million should this be the case.

However Ashley has informed those that he tried to sell the club to, in the summer that he was still willing to talk to anyone that has the funds to purchase the club, this would allow him time to fight forthcoming investigation over alleged price fixing, and the case is being brought by the serious fraud squad.

Any sale is certain to please the Newcastle fans who continue to turn up in large numbers to back their team’s promotion push. Have your say at the Newcastle Forum

Newcastle United have moved ten points clear of Nottm Forest as the race for play-off places hots up at the top of the Championship after beating Watford at St James’ Park.

Newcastle United had taken the lead on 20 minutes after Harewood tuck advantage of a weak backpass from Watford’s Craig Cathcart’s, Harewood intercepted it, and he laid on a simple tap in for Peter Lovenkrands.

The tide started to change after the break as Newcastle were reduced to ten men, Nolan was dismissed for a 2nd bookable offence on 49 minutes. Watford pushed forward in search of a goal, just as it started to look likely, Fabrice Pancrate scored a stunning left-footed strike in the 83rd minute to seal the win.

Newcastle United are not playing well but there have far too much for the Championship, the fans are starting to believe that the Toon have what it takes to get back into the Premier league. The home support was fantastic as the Toon Army continue to back their team.

Earlier, Chris Hughton was named manager of the month for the third month running.

Newcastle manager Chris Hughton:
“There will be bad times to come, I am sure, but we have shown a lot of resilience and that is the mark of any side which is doing well, that resilience resulting in clean sheets.

“I am absolutely delighted with that.

“What we do know is we are going to have good days and bad days, and what we have so far shown is a resilience to cope with the bad days and, at times, get something from them.

“There are times when you can’t speak highly enough of the group of lads you have, and that applies today.
