Lebanese immigrant Rima Fakih says it was a certain look from Donald Trump that tipped her off that she had won the 2010 Miss USA title.

Born in Lebanon, she emigrated with her parents to the U.S. as a baby. She was raised in New York and attended a Catholic school.

Miss Fakih told pageant judges that her family celebrates both the Christian and the Muslim faiths.

They moved to Michigan in 2003, where she was later crowned Miss Michigan.

The 24-year-old Miss Michigan beat out 50 other women to take the title Sunday night, despite nearly stumbling in her evening gown.

She told reporters later that she believed she had won after glancing at pageant owner Trump as she awaited the results with the first runner-up, Miss Oklahoma USA Morgan Elizabeth Woolard.

“That’s the same look that he gives them when he says, ‘You’re hired,’” on Trump’s reality show “The Apprentice,” she said.

“She’s a great girl,” said Trump, who owns the pageant with NBC in a joint venture.

Fakih took top honors at the pageant at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip after strutting confidently in an orange and gold bikini, wearing a strapless white gown that resembled a wedding dress and saying health insurance should cover birth control pills.

Fakih, an Arab-American from Dearborn, Mich., told pageant organizers her family celebrates both Muslim and Christian faiths. She moved to the United States as a baby and was raised in New York, where she attended a Catholic school. Her family moved to Michigan in 2003.

Pageant officials said historical pageant records were not detailed enough to show whether Fakih was the first Arab American, Muslim or immigrant to win the Miss USA title. The pageant started in 1952 as a local bathing suit competition in Long Beach, Calif.

Fakih told reporters she sold her car after graduating college in Michigan to help pay for her run in the Miss Michigan USA pageant.

In a moment that was replayed during the broadcast, Fakih nearly fell while finishing her walk in her gown because of the length of its train. But she made it without a spill and went on to win.

“I did it here, I better not do it at Miss Universe,” she said. “Modeling does help, after all.”

Fakih replaces Miss USA 2009 Kristen Dalton and won a spot representing the United States this summer in the 2010 Miss Universe pageant. She also gets a one-year lease in a New York apartment with living expenses, an undisclosed salary, and various health, professional and beauty services.

In the interview, Miss Fakih was asked whether she thought birth control should be paid for by health insurance.

She said believed it should as it is expensive. ‘I believe that birth control is just like every other medication even though it’s a controlled substance,’ she said.

Betty White’s hosting stint on “Saturday Night Live” brought in the biggest audiences in nearly two years for the NBC sketch comedy show. This weekend’s program topped all prime-time shows on major networks, according to preliminary numbers. Final numbers are due later this week.

With her muffin-touting, hardcore screamo antics and help from an all-star cast of “Saturday Night Live” alumnae, not to mention two solid performances from Jay-Z, Betty White helped “SNL” notch its best ratings in nearly two years.

According to figures provided by Nielsen, White gave the 35-year-old late-night staple its highest overnight numbers in more than 18 months, averaging an 8.8 rating, its biggest viewership since a November 1, 2008, show hosted by Ben Affleck that featured appearances by then Republican presidential nominee John McCain and Tina Fey as running mate Sarah Palin. Entertainment Weekly reported that “SNL” was up 66 percent in Nielsen-metered homes over the same night last year.

It helped that a who’s-who of “SNL” alums showed up to provide support for the 88-year-old showbiz legend whose suddenly-hot again status was cemented by a 500,000-member Facebook group that helped convince her to finally say yes to hosting the show after decades of declining invitations.

But how hot is White? Even Justin Bieber was feeling her, tweeting after the show, “BETTY WHITE RULES.”

Among the famous faces reprising some of their most beloved sketches were Maya Rudolph (serving up some of her patented loopy Whitney Houston), Tina Fey and Amy Poehler back behind the “Weekend Update” anchor desk, Ana Gasteyer and Molly Shannon donning their frumpy wool sweaters for their NPR parody “Delicious Dish” and Rachel Dratch, who played a number of utility roles but whose appearance as her Debbie Downer character was, sadly, left on the cutting-room floor.

The show also featured a nearly 10-minute medley from Jay-Z, who was joined by his new artist Bridget Kelly for “Empire State of Mind” and later by Mr. Hudson for “Young Forever,” which the rapper dedicated to “the most incredible Betty White.”

“She was a dream,” “SNL” veteran Seth Meyers told a fan while he was strolling through the West Village Sunday afternoon, adding that having Amy Poehler and Molly Shannon on Saturday’s show was an added perk.

Did you catch The Bachelor wedding last night? Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney tied the knot. I was never really a Jason fan… and didn’t particularly care for Molly either, so I watched halfheartedly. BUT, I do have a few things to say. Or probably more.

Finally, after 14 seasons, one of “The Bachelor’s” couples made it to the altar, though the ratings weren’t quite worth the wait.

ABC’s “The Bachelor: Jason and Molly’s Wedding” averaged a 2.7 adults 18-49 rating from 8 to 10 p.m. last night, according to Nielsen overnights, half of what last week’s “Bachelor” finale pulled but equal to ABC’s season-long average rating.

It was really neither a hit nor a miss for the network, which placed third for the night behind CBS and Fox but well ahead of NBC, whose Monday lineup is struggling.

Had “Wedding” aired last spring, after Jason and Molly got together, it likely would have drawn much higher ratings. Jason set off a storm of controversy when he dumped season 13 winner Melissa on the “After the Final Rose” special for runner-up Molly.

The most recent season of “Bachelor” was its best in years, buoyed in part by renewed interest in the show following Jason’s caddish move.

Meanwhile, CBS was first for the night among 18-49s with a 4.3 average overnight rating and a 12 share. Fox was second at 3.8/10, ABC third at 2.6/7, NBC fourth at 1.7/5, Univision fifth at 1.4/4 and CW sixth at 0.9/2.

As a reminder, all ratings are based on live-plus-same-day DVR playback. Seven-day DVR data won’t be available for several weeks. Thirty-six percent of Nielsen households have DVRs.

At 8 p.m. Fox was first with a 4.8 for “House,” followed by CBS with a 3.8 for “How I Met Your Mother” (3.9) and “Rules of Engagement” (3.6). ABC was third with a 2.6 for “Wedding,” NBC fourth with a 2.3 for “Chuck,” Univision fifth with a 1.7 for “Hasta que el Dinero Nos Separe” and CW sixth with a 0.9 for “Life Unexpected.”

CBS took the lead at 9 p.m. with a 5.8 for “Two and a Half Men” (5.8) and “The Big Bang Theory” (5.8), while ABC moved to second with a 2.9 for the second half of its “Bachelor” wedding special. Fox was third with a 2.8 for “24,” NBC fourth with a 1.4 for “Trauma,” Univision fifth with a 1.3 for “Corazon Salvaje” and CW sixth with a 1.0 for “Gossip Girl.”

At 10 p.m. CBS was first again with a 3.3 for “CSI: Miami,” with ABC second with a 2.4 for “Castle.” NBC was third with a 1.5 for “Law & Order” and Univision fourth with a 1.1 for “Cristina.”

Among households, CBS led the night with an 8.0 average overnight rating and a 13 share. Fox was second at 6.4/10, ABC third at 6.0/10, NBC fourth at 3.4/5, Univision fifth at 1.9/3 and CW sixth at 1.2/2.
