Chris Brown finally got his shot at paying homage to his fallen idol, Michael Jackson, at the BET Awards 2010.
Chris Brown finally got his shot at paying homage to his fallen idol, Michael Jackson, at the BET Awards 2010. Jackson’s brother Jermaine introduced Brown, who popped up on stage in a blue shirt, black slacks, white socks, and Jackson’s trademark black loafers. It was a spot-on pull from Jackson’s look at 1988′s Grammy Awards.

The Black Entertainment Television or simply BET Awards 2010 made Los Angeles illuminated with the stars nominated in the event.

It was said that Chris Brown had an emotional performance prior to the tribute to Michael Jackson. He was dressed really like Michael Jackson. Remember the Time, Billie Jean, Man in the Mirror were included in the medley for Michael Jackson’s tribute. In the part of the Man in the Mirror, Chris Brown broke down emotionally.

He started of performing Jackson’s Bad smash “The Way You Make Me Feel” and then changed into a sequined black jacket and donned a glittered white glove for Thriller‘s “Billie Jean.” Brown’s obviously the only singer capable of doing Jackson’s moves justice. He popped, spun, and moonwalked as the “King of Pop” did for decades.

The performance’s most touching moment came when Brown started to sing Jackson’s “Man in the Mirror.” Within a few lines he got too choked up to finish the track, bursting into tears. Because last year’s BET Awards happened just days after Jackson died, they were not able to put together a proper tribute to the legend. At this time last year Brown was also dealing with the repercussions of his assault charge for beating his ex girlfriend Rihanna. Even though a Chris Brown tribute to Jackson seemed obligatory, I’m not too sure it would’ve been appropriate for the embattled talent to make the awards ceremony. A year later, people may still question BET’s rationale.

“Man in the Mirror” is a track off of Jackson’s 1987 solo album, “Bad.” It was written by Siedah Garrett and Glen Ballard. The lyrics to “Man in the Mirror” include the lines “I’ve been a victim of a selfish kind of love…I’m starting with the Man In The Mirror/ I’m asking him to change his ways.”

The lawyer for Michael Jackson’s personal doctor says the doctor will surrender to authorities to face criminal charges in Los Angeles arising from the pop star’s death last year.

Attorney Ed Chernoff said in a statement that Dr. Conrad Murray had agreed to surrender later today.

Criminal charges against Michael Jackson’s personal physician will be filed “in the near future,” in connection with the pop star’s death, law enforcement sources said, but there is confusion over when he will be booked.

Negotiations between prosecutors and Murray’s lawyers broke down Thursday evening, law enforcement sources with detailed knowledge of the talks told Beth Karas of “In Session,” of CNN sister network tru TV..

“I don’t know what part of negotiations could have broken down, in light of the fact that we’ve placed ourselves in the hands of law enforcement to surrender at any time,” said Ed Chernoff, Murray’s lawyer.

Murray, who was Jackson’s doctor when the pop star died last summer, will nonetheless show up at the Los Angeles courthouse airport location to surrender at 1:30 p.m. PST Friday, as previously planned, a spokesman for his legal team told Karas.

If authorities refuse to take him into custody for a court arraignment, then Murray and his lawyers will meet with reporters outside the courthouse, Miranda Sevcik said.

Prosecutors could file charges at any time, however, setting up a scenario for Los Angeles police to find Murray on their own, arrest him and take him to jail.

A surrender — in which a defendant turns himself at a police station for booking — would allow the doctor to avoid being seen in public handcuffed and escorted by police.

Murray is reportedly facing formal charges of involuntary manslaughter — of unintentionally causing death through negligence or carelessness — in connection with Jackson’s death.

Coroners have ruled that Jackson, who was 50, died due to a combination of drugs, including the powerful anesthetic propofol, that were reportedly given to help the star sleep.

Jackson’s sudden death on June 25 led to a global outpouring of grief for the singer, whose 1982 album “Thriller” remains the world’s best-selling album of all time.

Michael Jackson was born on August 29, 1958, as the eighth of ten children in Gary, Indiana, an industrial suburb of Chicago, to an African American working-class family. His mother, Katherine Esther Scruse, was a devout Jehovah’s Witness, and his father, Joseph Walter “Joe” Jackson, a steel mill worker who performed with an R&B band called The Falcons. Jackson had three sisters: Rebbie, La Toya, and Janet, and six brothers: Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon, Brandon (Marlon’s twin brother, who died shortly after birth) and Randy.

Jackson had a troubled relationship with his father, Joe. He stated that he was physically and emotionally abused during incessant rehearsals, with whippings, and name-calling, though he admitted his father’s strict discipline played a large role in his success. In one altercation recalled by Marlon, Joseph held Michael upside down by one leg and “pummeled him over and over again with his hand, hitting him on his back and buttocks”. Joseph would also grab his sons and push them with great force against the wall. One night while Michael was asleep, Joseph climbed into his room through the bedroom window, wearing a fright mask and screamed, in hopes to scare him. He said he wanted to teach the children not to leave the window open when they went to sleep. For years afterward, Jackson said he suffered nightmares about being kidnapped from his bedroom. Joseph acknowledged in 2003 that he regularly whipped Jackson as a child.

Dr. Conrad Murray expects to surrender to Los Angeles authorities this week on charges relating to the death of Michael Jackson, his lawyer said Tuesday.

“Dr. Murray is more than ready to surrender and answer to any charges,” attorney Ed Chernoff said.

Prosecutors have not announced any charges, however, and Murray has not been told how or where he should surrender, according to Miranda Sevcik, spokeswoman for Murray’s legal team.

Dr. Murray, is a cardiologist licensed to practice medicine in Texas and was living with Jackson at his rented Beverly Hills mansion as his personal physician.

Murray traveled to Los Angeles from his home in Houston, Texas, last week in anticipation of possible charges, which he expects to be announced within 24 to 48 hours, Sevick said.

Murray was hired to be Jackson’s personal physician last spring as the entertainer prepared for his comeback concerts set for London, England, starting in July.

The doctor told Los Angeles Police investigators that he was with Jackson through the early morning hours of June 25 in an effort to help the pop star fall asleep, according to a police affidavit.

He administered various sleep aids, and after Jackson finally began sleeping in the late morning hours, Murray said, he left the bedroom for “about two minutes maximum,” the affidavit said.

Jackson family members have said the dead entertainer received a daily injection of a synthetic narcotic similar to morphine – Demerol –and yesterday he received a shot at 11:30am from Dr. Murray.

“Upon his return, Murray noticed that Jackson was no longer breathing,” it said.

Murray stayed with Jackson as an ambulance rushed him from his $100,000-a-month rented mansion in Holmby Hills to UCLA Medical Center.

Efforts at CPR proved fruitless, and Jackson was pronounced dead at 2:26 p.m.

After an investigation of more than seven months, the Los Angeles County D.A. is ready to charge Dr. Conrad Murray in the death of Michael Jackson.

While members of the LAPD still have not met with the D.A. to present the case, the deputy D.A. assigned to the Michael Jackson investigation, David Walgren, has been working closely with LAPD detectives on the case, is familiar with the details.

Dr. Conrad Murray was Michael Jackson’s personal physician at the time of his June 25 death, believed to have been caused by the anesthetic Propofol.

He disappeared, or at least kept an extremely low profile, for several months, only to return to work lately because dude was behind on child support.

He’s already lawyered up in anticipation of the charges to come.

The most likely of those charges? Involuntary manslaughter. Murder is a hard sell, as he surely didn’t mean to take the life of the King of Pop that day.

Many believe his negligence and/or shady medical practices played a role in MJ’s death, however, and that’s enough to warrant serious charges.

According to the vitals.com website, which allows patients to grade doctors, Dr. Murray completed medical school in 1989 at Meharry Medical College School Of Medicine in Nashville, Tn., and then an Internal Medicine residency at the same school in 1992.

For a couple of hours, users were able to listen to a new song from Michael Jackson’s duet with Lenny Kravitz … but it was quickly removed! Lenny did not like the anonymous leak …

An unreleased song by Michael Jackson, that’s good news for fans! Yes, but … if it has been online for several hours, the song quickly disappeared from the internet.
Indeed according to E! Online it was withdrawn at the request of Sony BMG, and lawyers involved in the succession of the King of Pop.

Entitled AnotherDay, this song was apparently a duet with Lenny Kravitz… But according to an anonymous source leaked on the internet that was not planned:”This was not allowed! Nobody really knows how it came out…”

The beautiful Lenny Kravitz himself does not understand, and is rather annoyed:”I want this story to be clarified as soon as possible! Because I want you the fans, who like Michael, you can hear this song in his together. The way it should be, the way Michael and I wanted.”

Hopefully that happens soon! A new song by the King ofPop, along with the crunchy LennyKravitz, was eager to hear this …
