January 12th, 2010 – Malevilus Publishing are proud to announce the launch of Vworp Vworp! – a professionally designed and edited, fan-produced one-shot celebrating 30 amazing years of Doctor Who Magazine.
Featuring contributions from former Doctor Who Magazine editors (Clayton Hickman, Alan Barnes, Gary Russell, John Freeman), interviews with British comic strip legends Dave Gibbons and Pat Mills and the man who started it all with Doctor Who Weekly in 1979, British comics industry legend Dez Skinn, Vworp Vworp! Is an affectionate tribute to the highs and lows of the magazine that kept the flag flying for Doctor Who when the TV show was far away from TV screens throughout the 1990s.
Vworp Vworp! successfully evokes the spirit and feel of the original 1979 release, complete with a Tom Baker cover and a free transfer set! Within the a series of articles charting the development of both Doctor Who Weekly and some of the various comic strips that appeared in the original title and the later Doctor Who Magazine, as well as three brand new original comic strips. As well as a custom cover depicting all 11 Doctors and friends, as an extra special treat, a limited variant cover has been made available. Overseen by Dez Skinn, this loving homage to his original Doctor Who Weekly covers from 1979 is guaranteed to hit all the nostalgia buttons for any reader over 30 and is not to be missed!
