Kelloggs cereal recalled, affects 28 million boxes

We’ve already heard of quite a few different recalls this year including cars, cribs and food. And while we are speaking about food recalls, there now appears to be another. Kellogg Co. has just announced that they are recalling some of their children’s cereals.

The company is voluntarily recalling 28 million boxes of Corn Pops, Honey Smacks, Froot Loops and Apple Jacks. Several reports of nausea and vomiting have been reported by consuming these cereals. Although the company reports a low risk of serious health issues, officials still caution about consuming the products.

There has been said to be a noxious odor coming from the bad inside the box. All the cereals involved in this recall have the letters KN following the “used by” date on the package.

The company’s representative Adaire Putnam went on to explain that the voluntary recall affects Kellogg’s Apple Jacks, Kellogg’s Corn Pops, Kellogg’s Froot Loops, and Kellogg’s Honey Smacks, with best-before dates ranging from March 26th, 2011 to June 22nd, 2011.

About 20 people have reported both nausea and vomiting after being exposed to the packaging involved, the spokeswoman went on to explain. A press release from the company is now asking consumers to immediately dispose of boxes that they may have in their home.
